87, of Cass City, died following a lengthy illness Monday, April 6, 2020 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center, Marlette. She was born August 13, 1932 at home in Snover to Gordon Benjamin and Grace Anne (Blank) Smeckert. She married Russell Cameron April 14, 1962. He died November 10, 1984.

She spent the winter months in Arizona and Florida. Joyce enjoyed estate and garage sales with good friend Kathy Hale. A member of Deford Community Church and its Diamond’s Class, Joyce always looked forward to Pastor Cooper singing to her when he would visit. She loved reading her Bible and spent much time praying for family and friends.

Joyce was a very gracious lovely woman. I loved going to Cass City to her house to do genealogy about mutual relatives and friends in the Snover area. She enjoyed going out to lunch. She would show me her collection of goofus glass. She will be missed.
