ROBERT LLOYD ALBRECHT
93, of Owendale, died peacefully with his family by his side, Friday morning September 24, 2021 in his home. He was born January 8, 1928 in Bloomfield Hills to Lloyd Thomas and Pearl Geneva (Allen) Albrecht. He married his high school sweetheart, Lois Elaine Good on July 10, 1948 in Evangelical United Brethren Church of Owendale. She died January 10, 2019.
Robert met Lois while playing softball in Owendale High School and he graduated in 1946. He was a crop and dairy farmer on the family homestead built by his grandfather. Upon retiring from farming, Robert and Lois went on a number of trips to various parts of the United States. He earned many trophies as an avid bowler and played on bowling leagues. Robert watched all types of sports including baseball, basketball, and football. He was an active arm chair coach. Robert also enjoyed watching western movies on television. He was a member of the Owendale United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Robert enjoyed playing solitaire with his family and a good game of softball in the backyard.
Robert is survived by his children: Donald “LeRoy” (Deb) Albrecht of Unionville; Elaine (Roger) VanLoo of Gilbert, AZ; Jim (Susan) Albrecht of Owendale; MaraLee Albrecht of East Lansing; Wayne Albrecht of Essexville; Ellen (Bill) Perdue of Owendale; Janet (Pedro) Santos of Bay City; grandchildren: Eric (Angie) Albrecht, Lisa VanLoo, Brandon (Jessica) Albrecht, Melissa (Rich) Witkovsky, Travis Albrecht, Rutger Breakey, Derek (Rebecca) Albrecht, Bryan (Mandy) Baker, Aaron (Kristi) Baker, Billy Perdue, Jeff Perdue, Brett Lenda; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Lois (Merlin) Kain of Bad Axe, special cousin, Dora Gates of Warren; sisters-in-law: Hazel Good of Gagetown, Eleanor Truemner of Cass City; brothers-in-law: Edmund Good, Jr. of Gagetown, Bob Good of Holly; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of seventy years, Lois; brother, Richard Albrecht; grandson, Jeremy Albrecht; great grandson, Anthony Baker; brothers-in-law: Ronald Good, Lloyd Good, Lyle Truemner.
Funeral service held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in Owendale United Methodist Church with Rev. William Cleland officiating. Interment will be in Grant Township Cemetery.
