Barbara L Ball, 74, of Cass City, died Thursday, May 8, 2025 in Covenant Healthcare, Saginaw. She was born March 29, 1951 in Cass City to Wayne and Donna (Smith) Parker. She married Donald Grant Ball on April 8, 1972 in Salem United Brethren Church of Cass City.

Barb graduated from Cass City High School and was employed by Coachlight Pharmacy and General Cable before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a self-taught talented artist and was particularly skilled at painting. Barb painted over 2,600 pieces of driftwood, usually decorating them with a Santa face. People would bring her the wood pieces so that she could complete a beautiful painted piece for them. Barb sent her art pieces all over the world and kept a record of where they were delivered to. She attended various craft shows displaying her many creations. Barb also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and her peaceful backyard koi pond. She loved her family and time spent with her grandchildren most of all.

Barb is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Don of Cass City; sons: Don (Jennifer Gilley) Ball of Ashland, WI and his children, Aidan, Morgan, Jennifer’s son, Dylan Gilley; Doug Ball of Cass City and his children, Kaitlyn (Blake) Crance, Dawson, Paislee, Blair; one great grandson, Sylas; many nieces and nephews. Barb is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Parker; sister, Janice (Richard) Hunt.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church.
