Dolores A. Bednarczyk, 80, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Monday, February 2, 2015 in William Beaumont Hospital Troy. She was born October 25, 1934 in Detroit to Joseph Edward and Violet (Ribscoe) Forster. She married Edward Andrew Bednarczyk May 16, 1953 in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Hazel Park.
Dolores graduated from St. Rita High School Detroit. She was a loving mother and homemaker. After her children were grown and moved away Dolores took a job with ITT as an Administrative Assistant for ten years. Dolores and Ed moved to the Cass City area 23 years ago. They are members of Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church and former members of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Rochester Hills. Dolores enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework, and making delicious candy for family and friends. Dolores and Ed traveled extensively throughout the U.S.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Edward; children: Marie Bednarczyk of Lapeer, Edward Bednar of Charlotte, NC, Robert (Lynn) Black of Charlotte, NC, Matthew (Donna) Bednarczyk of Berkley; grandchildren: Daniel (Kanako) Bednar, Andrew Bednar, Kenneth Bednar, Luke Bednarczyk, Meredith Black, Philip Bednarczyk; great grandson, Joseph. Dolores will also be missed by sisters: Phyllis Hackenbruch of Port Huron, Barbara (George) Knoppe of Hazel Park; brother, Lawrence (Nancy) Forster of Alpena; sisters-in-law: Shirley (Robert) Harper of Clarkston; brother-in-law, Frank (Irene) Bednarczyk of Brighton; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers: Joseph Forster and Thomas Forster; sister-in-law, Wanda Green.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church Cass City with Rev. Christian Tabares officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The National Shrine of the Cross In The Woods, Indian River.
