EVELYN G. BETKA,
93, of Cass City, formerly of Dearborn and Inkster, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born September 21, 1920 in Detroit the oldest of two daughters of Peter and Lillian (Paradowska) Langis. She married Frank V. Betka November 18, 1939 in Dearborn. He died September 24, 1962.

Evelyn graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn. During the World War II years Evelyn worked at the General Motors Turnstead plant. She later worked for Winkelman's and Federal's Department Stores. Evelyn loved ballroom dancing to the Big Band sound. She also liked to cook. Evelyn and her husband were former members of the Moose Lodge in Garden City. Evelyn lived in Inkster until her recent illness took her to Cass City to be near her daughter, son-in-law, grandson and his family.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Joyce (James) Hamilton of Cass City, James A. Betka of Inkster; grandson, Robert (Shelly) Hamilton of Cass City; great grandchildren: Brendan and Brittany; sister, Virginia (David) Adams of Taylor; niece, Sandra Remisoski; nephew David (Rose) Adams and their families.
The burial will take place Monday, May 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights where she will be interred with her husband. Memorials may be made to Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, 5455 Corporate Drive Suite 306, Troy, MI 48098.
