ROBERT JOHN BLISS, SR.
75, of Cass City, died Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. He was born January 18, 1947 in Cass City to William and Marjorie (Tyo) Bliss Sr. He married Beryl Copeland on June 17, 1967 in Our Lady Consolata, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City.
Bob graduated from Cass City High School in 1965. He worked for his father at Bliss Milk Haulers. Later, Bob worked for Herron Builders for twenty years before he started his own business. He owned and operated Robert Bliss Builders for twenty-eight years before retiring. Bob was a past member of Cass City Lions Club, Cass City Jaycees, White Creek Club, and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, walleye and ice fishing.
Bob is survived by his wife, Beryl; children: Alicia (Gary) Miller of Caro; Jeff (Rocio) Bliss of Cass City; Robert (Candi Schmotzer) Bliss Jr. of Cass City; grandchildren: Lindsey Bliss, Jeffrey Bliss Jr., Tyler Miller, Jacob Miller, Kaiden Bliss; great grandchildren: Lillian, Karlie, Josie; siblings: Barbara (Gerald) Generous of Caro; David (Penny) Bliss of West Branch; Paul (LaDonna) Bliss of Cass City; Charles (Tamara) Bliss of Cass City; sister-in-law, Kathy Bliss of Kalamazoo; Uncle Jim (Chris) Tyo of Prudenville; brothers-in-law: Jon Sawicki of Greenfield, IN; Norman (Rosemary) Copeland of Kalamazoo; Ronald (Mary) Copeland of Lakeland, FL; Wayne (Marcia) Copeland of Bad Axe; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tamara Bliss; brother, William Bliss Jr., father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Oneita Copeland; sister-in-law, Joan Sawicki.
Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City officiating. Memorials may be made to Alicia Miller for the family’s discretion. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
