LARRY EDWARD BLOOMFIELD, SR.
81, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home. He was born August 19, 1941 in Ohio to John and Delphine Bloomfield. He married Bonnie Lou Kaatz on March 11, 1965 in the Church of Christ, Caro. She died November 7, 2020.
Larry graduated from Sebewaing High School. He was employed by Saginaw Steering Gear, as a machine operator, for over thirty years. Following retirement, he and Bonnie delivered newspapers for the Saginaw News on multiple paper routes throughout the Thumb area. Together, they enjoyed spending time up north at their cottage and tried to go every weekend if possible. His hobbies included fishing, riding his bicycle, and going for walks. Most of all, Larry loved taking care of his lawn. He had a close relationship with his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Larry is survived by his sons: Randall Scott Putnam of Vero Beach, FL; Larry Bloomfield, Jr. of Cass City; grandchildren: Rebecca (Brandon) Elston of Unionville, Rachel (Jesse) Bucholtz of Gaylord, Casandra Bloomfield of PA, Shane Bloomfield of Deford; ten great grandchildren; siblings: numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; sons: Jerry Putnam, Anthony Lee Bloomfield.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Almer Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
