NANCY ANN BRADWAY,
83, of Gagetown, died following a long illness Monday, July 29, 2019 in her granddaughter’s home in Gagetown. She was born August 25, 1935 in Palmer, Alaska the third of four children born to Robert and Helen (Mackey) Usher. She married George A. Bradway September 11, 1951 in the village of Cornell in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He died September 22, 2001.
Nancy was a stay at home Mom while her children were small. She was the Mom of six children by the time she was 22. Along with her husband, Nancy owned and managed Bradway’s Grocery in Elba for 13 years and then Kelly’s Market in Gagetown for 12 years. Nancy also worked in the office of Erla’s Grocery Store for a few years. She enjoyed flower gardening. Nancy went whitewater rafting with three of her grandchildren when she was 70 and went skydiving in her late 70’s.
Nancy is survived by her children: Sandra (Steve) Shaw of Fairbault, MN, Patricia (Donald) Barr of Lawrenceville, GA, Gary (Kathy) Bradway of Belding, Gregory Bradway of Kalkaska, Pamela (Kevin) Schlaud of West Point, VA, Gail (Robert) McCreedy of Gagetown, Scott (Deneen) Bradway of Mayville; grandchildren: Jeff (Stephanie) Shaw, Becky (Mike) Stenzel, Kristen (Alex) Perrine, Timothy (Melinda) Barr, Stephanie Barr, Victoria (Brek) Steele, Amelia (Justin) Parrish, Andrew Bradway, Adam (Jill) Bradway, Patrick (Brittany) Bradway, Georgiann (Shawn) Salkeld, Heather Ereg, Dana Bradway, Nicole (Mike) Lamb, Eric Schlaud, Christina (Mike) Witzke, Michael (Tara) Dale, Nathan Dale, Kyle (Krista) Bradway, Holly (Chris Shay) Bradway, Hannah Bradway; great grandchildren: Lilly, Lathan, Lanydan, Liberty, Haven, Maverick, Dixie, Geneva, Elsie, Kayler, Winnie, Halle, Gray, Jack, Alexis, Meadow, Adien, Tyler, Alaina, Cooper, Alyson, Gage, Jason, Lacey, John, Audrey, Chase, Jackson, Ashley, Brodee, Landyn, Makenna, Kayden and another due soon. She will also be remembered by her sisters: Helen DAmbrosio of Gwinn, Bonnie Phipps of Traverse City; sister-in-law, Lenore Usher of Watson; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bill Usher; and infant granddaughter, Mylissa Schlaud.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City. Interment will be in Stiles Cemetery, Mayfield Township. Pallbearers for Ms. Bradway: Jeff Shaw, Timothy Barr, Andrew Bradway, Adam Bradway, Patrick Bradway, Eric Schlaud, Michael Dale, Nathan Dale, Kyle Bradway. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
