RONI JEAN BROOKS
66, of Flint, formerly of Kingston, died Saturday, May 7, 2022 in her home with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 19, 1955 in Torrance, CA to Richard and Joan (Sherorn) Luke. She married Lawrence Marvin Brooks, Jr. on December 4, 2013 in Caro.
Roni graduated from Kingston High School in 1973. She worked for Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems in Caro for eleven years before retiring. Roni enjoyed playing Bingo, making Diamond Art and playing cards. She treasured time spent with her family, especially all the new babies that have just been born into the family. Roni spoiled her fur babies: Sasha, a cocker spaniel, and cats: Goober and Barney.
Roni is survived by her husband, Larry of Flint; children: Sally (Jeremy) Vella of Cass City, Kori (Alex) Skinner of Caro, Mike (Melissa) Spencer of Kingston, Katie (Jason) Raymond of Burton; grandchildren: Michael, Rusti (Brian), Anthony, Kyle, Jordan, Tyler, Erika, Alisha, Mariah, Madisyn, Myles; great-grandchildren: Oaklenn, Finlenn, Novalee, Oliver; several nieces and nephews; siblings: Liz (Pat) Macklin of TX, Don (Kelly) Smith of KS, Chris (Steve) Morris of Lewiston, Rick (Lisa) Luke of TX; best friend, Carol Parrish. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Toni Smith, Donna Smith.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Sarah LaRose of Calvary Community Church of Flint officiating . Interment in Kingston Cemetery.
