ANN LOUISE CRAIG,
74, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 17, 2020 in her home. She was born January 27, 1946 in Saginaw to Bernard and Lucy (Wadsworth) Starmann. She married Thomas Craig December 26, 1965 in Cass City United Methodist Church.
Ann graduated from Cass City High School in 1964. She studied history and received her Bachelors of Arts from Central Michigan University and years later, earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Wayne State University. She enjoyed researching her family history and genealogy. Ann was employed as a substitute teacher in the Cass City High School Library. Her knowledge and love of books and reading aided many visitors of the Rawson Memorial District Library in Cass City, where she worked for over twenty-five years. She would read anything, from classic literature to contemporary horror novels. Ann loved her pet cats and had a tremendous sweet tooth for cookies and candy. She served as a Deacon of First Presbyterian Church of Cass City and was an active member of the American Association of University Women.
Ann is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter: Barbara (Shea) Charles of Howell; grandson, Ethan Charles of Howell; sister: Suzanne (Michael) Mulligan of Arlington Heights, IL; Goddaughter and niece, Susan (Jack) Kasko; nieces and nephews: Amy (Patrick) Sacor, Anne Mulligan, Elsa (Scott) Starmann-Sprague, Hannah Starmann, Johnny Starmann. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Barbara Starmann, John Starmann.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in Kranz Funeral Home of Cass City with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rawson Memorial Library or First Presbyterian Church of Cass City. Friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com. In accordance with the current state executive order, social distancing and limitations on numbers gathered in the funeral home will be observed. Attendees are also kindly reminded to wear a mask or other facial covering.
