Margaret Ann Czekai (Kozan)

MARGARET ANN CZEKAI,
77, of Cass City died following a lengthy illness Friday, August 9, 2019 in McLaren Bay Region, Bay City. She was born August 4, 1942 in Cass City to Andrew and Lula Mae (Ashmore) Kozan. She married Gary Morris Czekai June 29, 1963 in Cass City United Methodist Church. He died October 4, 2010.
Margaret graduated Cass City High School with the class of 1960. She worked as an operator with General Telephone of Cass City. She was an active member of Cass City United Methodist Church. A stay at home mom, Margaret took great care of the household duties and raising her children. She enjoyed crochet and made many blankets and stockings. Margaret was skilled at decorating cakes and made Valentine’s Day cookies with all the kids names on them. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and was always present during their school activities and sports.

Margaret is survived by her children: Ron Czekai of Fort Gratiot; Terry Czekai of Cass City; Brian Czekai of Bay City; Keith (Nikki) Czekai of Cass City; Julie Czekai of Bad Axe; Gary Tom (Jodi Wood) Czekai of Cass City; grandchildren: Adam Czekai, Renee Czekai, Terra (Eric) Czekai-Thick, Mandy Czekai (Dillon Pavlichek), Henry Janik, Tyler Czekai, Gary Janik, Heather Czekai, Sophie Czekai, Sydney Czekai; great grandchildren: Sawyer, Madelyn, Blake, Easton, baby Pavlichek due in February; brothers: Randy (Sandy) Kozan of Hastings, Bob Kozan of Cass City; sisters: Cheryl (Mark) Dost of Traverse City; Frances (Carl) Palmateer of White Post, VA; brother-in-law, Richard (Judy) Czekai of Flushing. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Andrew Kozan.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in Cass City United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Demyanovich officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
