 DAVID CARL BLOCK

David C. Block, 69, of Cass City, died unexpectedly after a long illness on Saturday, September 20, 2025 in his home. He was born May 21, 1956 in Deckerville to Carl James and Elaine June (McIntosh) Block.

In his childhood years, Dave lived in Minden City and attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Ruth through the eighth grade. During high school, he worked at Clements Electric and on his uncle’s dairy farm. Dave graduated from Ubly High School in 1974. Following graduation, he worked for Bader and Sons Co. John Deere dealership. Dave attended Saint Clair Community College and later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastic Engineering from Central Michigan University. He was employed by Dott Industries and retired after thirty-four years. Dave was an avid golfer and enjoyed completing the tasks of a handyman. He delighted in sharing his computer skills, especially with those in need of assistance. Dave loved to travel and visited many countries around the world, making fantastic DVDs of his trips when he returned. He treasured time spent with his beloved grandchildren the most.

Dave is survived by his mother, Elaine Block of Deckerville; son, Jonathon (Tina) Block of Deckerville; fiancé, Deborah L. Robinson of Cass City; Deb’s children: Michael Robinson, Lynda Robinson; grandchildren: Andrea, Hunter, Abigail, Payton, Alexa, Owen; brother, Robert Block; sister, Debra (Al) Savoie. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Block; son, Jason Paul Block; sister, Susan Segal; Deborah’s son, Brian Robinson.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ruth. Memorials may be made to Deckerville Education Foundation.
