AUSTIN ALAN DEERING
28, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 17, 2021 in McLaren Thumb Region, Bad Axe. He was born August 3, 1993 in Santa Monica, CA to Mark Deering and Deborah (Adams) Deering.

Austin played baseball for Cass City High School and graduated with the Class of 2011. He attended Saginaw Valley State University and Mid-Michigan Community College. Following his father’s footprints, Austin enlisted in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, stationed in Fort Hood near Killeen, TX. He previously worked for Fahrner Asphalt of Saginaw. Austin was a fan of the Detroit Red Wings, but his passion was hunting and fishing. He especially loved fishing the Cass River.

Austin is survived by his parents: Mark Deering of Cass City, Debbie Deering of Pigeon; brother, Brett Deering of Cass City; grandparents: Doris Barrons of Watrousville, Roger Deering of Cass City, Darrell (Chris) Jeglie of Simi Valley, CA; aunts: Sherry Barrons of Watrousville, Julie (Robert) Palmateer Brown of Gilbert, AZ; Kelly (Kim) Deering of Saginaw, Kristy Deering of Las Vegas, NV; Deann Luana of Vassar; uncles: Shaun (Nancy) Adams of Porter Ranch, CA; Richard Adkins of North Hollywood, CA; Leo (Sheila) Clark of Sherman Oaks, CA; Carl (Frances) Palmateer, Jr. of White Post, VA; Joel Palmateer of Knoxville, TN; cousins: Arabella Adams, Matthew Adams, Alex Barrons, Kian Clark, Kristen Curnutt, Ayden Bonner, Jayden Curnutt, Ryan Johnson, Cheyenne Johnson, David Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Emily Koehler, Lydia Koehler, Cody Orban, Abigail Palmateer, Alex Palmateer, Gabriel Palmateer, Kalen Trischler, Lyndi Trischler, Emery Fitz-Gordon, Rylen Burns; very special friends: Robbie (Amanda) Simpson, Nate Simpson, Jesse Powell, and his military and work friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles Adams, Vickie Adams, Leo Joseph “Bud” Clark, Gazella Jean Deering; cousin, Luca Trischler Burns.

Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to Gift of Life. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
