George Lewis Dibble

GEORGE LEWIS DIBBLE,
86, of Caro, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. He was born November 24, 1935 in Flint, the fifth of twelve children born to Earl and Sylvia (Streeter) Dibble. He was united in marriage to Peggy J. Wilkinson on October 14, 1961 in Kingston by Rev. Wilber Traver.

George attended Kingston Schools and was proud of the fact that he was one of the starting five on the championship varsity basketball team coached by Bob Sullivan. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1960 stationed on Okinawa, Japan as a teletype operator. George worked for ten years at Marlette Homes and thirty years for General Motors, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the UAW Local 5960. Together, George and Peggy enjoyed spending winters in Winter Haven, Florida. He was happiest when he was fixing things in his pole barn, watching the Detroit Tigers and old western movies, and completing 2,000-piece jigsaw puzzles.

George is survived by his wife, Peggy; children: Susan (James) Ahern of Caro; Jerry (Erica) Dibble of Caro; grandchildren: Sarah (Chris) Fessler of Mayville; Aaron (Angel) Ahern of Fairgrove; Jamie Dibble of Caro; Jason Dibble of Caro; great-grandchildren: Leland Fessler, Emma Fessler; siblings: Arlene Costello of Burton, Elaine Newton of Mayville, Shirley Ludlow of Greenville, OH; Connie Motley of Decker, Ron Dibble of Decker; Don Dibble of AL; sisters-in-law: Myra Dibble of Mt. Morris; MaryAnn Wilkinson (Paul Smythe) of Northville; brother-in-law, Don (Sharon) Wilkinson of CA; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Earl, Robert, James, Gearld; sister, Donna Wild; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wilkinson.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in East Dayton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Military honors conducted by Kingston Amvets Post 1072, Caro VFW Post 4164 and the U.S. Army honor guard.
