DOROTHY ANN KNIGHT

Dorothy A. Knight, 87, of Rochester Hills; formerly of Cass City, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Waltonwood Senior Living of Rochester Hills. She was born May 12, 1938 to Merle and Josephine (Washkiewicz) Kanon in Nanticoke, PA. She married Edward Warren Knight on October 10, 1970 in Detroit. He died September 22, 2023.

Dorothy was raised in Hamtramck and Detroit, and graduated from Pershing High School, Detroit. She was employed by General Motors as a payroll supervisor for thirty years until she retired. Dorothy then spent her time volunteering in the Troy Beaumont Hospital Gift Shop, Hills & Dales General Hospital Gift Shop, and for the Rawson Memorial Library Friends of the Library. Together, she and Ed enjoyed many rounds of golf and traveling with family, friends, and on Chrysler work trips. Dorothy loved going out to eat, spending time with family and friends, and completing all types of puzzles. She was a voracious reader of many mystery and romance novels.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Laura (Tim) Schneider; grandchildren: Joshua Schneider, Faith Schneider; brother, William Kanon; sister, Shirley Moore; brother-in-law, Hank Jazanoski, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; siblings: Irene Giasson, Joan Jazanoski.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, funeral celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy’s family asks that you consider a donation to the Rawson Memorial Library Friends of the Library.
