JENIFER JILL GREEN,
53, of Cass City, died following a short illness Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Covenant Medical Center, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. She was born December 27, 1965 to Ronald Chris and Elaine Ruth (Drummond) Gayari. She married Kevin Robert Green June 9, 1990 in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon. He died July 21, 2016.

Jeni graduated from Laker High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University and her Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics from Walden University. Jeni was an active member of Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church serving as Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Jeni was Farm Bureau Teacher of the Year for Tuscola County and Farm Bureau Teacher of the Year for the State of Michigan. Jeni loved her work as teacher. She loved every one of her students, fellow teachers and support staff. She was caring, tender, and selfless. Jeni loved to read; she loved to travel, short trips only; and she loved to spend time at her cottage in Port Austin. She offered positive energy to all she touched and never said a bad word about anyone. Jeni was a goofball and brought laughter everywhere she went.

Jeni is survived by her children: Chelsea Ann Green, Brandon Storm Green and Ariel Celeste Green all of Cass City; mother, Elaine Gayari of Owendale; siblings: Laura (Kevin) Burk of Elkton, Karen (Mark) Hicks of Williamston, Stephen (Michelle) Gayari of Pigeon, Michelle Gayari of Ann Arbor; many nieces and nephews. Also left to remember Jeni are Kevin’s family: mother-in-law, Laura Green of Livonia; brother-in-law, Bruce Green of Novi, sisters-in-law: Linda (Keith) Deskins of Farmington Hills, Carolyn Winward of Pittsburgh, PA, Stacey Green of New Boston. She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Gayari; her grandparents; brother-in-law, Mark Green; father-in-law, Robert Green.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Rev. Adam Maher officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers for Jeni will be: . Memorials may be made to Jeni Green Future Teacher Scholarship Fund.
