BEATRICE VIOLA GYOMORY,
95 of Canton, Michigan, died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in Regency of Canton. She was born July 1, 1924 in Kingston to Howard and Carrie (Innes) Francis. She married Julius Gyomory October 5, 1946. He died November 27, 1992.
Beatrice graduated from Kingston High School and worked at the Dairy Bar in Kingston. After marrying Julius, she moved to Detroit where she worked in retail until she became a mom. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing and ceramics. Beatrice loved spending time with her family, fur companions and friends. Beatrice was active in church; holding positions on council at Immanuel United Church of Christ and attending senior activities and bible studies at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Canton. She was well known for her quiet and “be positive” attitude which she demonstrated in her own life.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Ben) Fontana of Canton; granddaughter, Carrie (Jonathan) Preston of Canton; Godsons: Stan (Sue) Olkowski of Novi; Dennis Gyomory of Clifford; many nieces and nephews. Her faithful fur grand-pups, Kyra and Dunkin will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Mary (Roland) Eastman; brothers: Ray (Susie Laline) Francis; Harold John (Mabel) Francis; brothers-in-law: Steve Gyomory; Al (Nellie) Gyomory; Frank (Clara) Gyomory; Paul (Nancy) Gyomory; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, with Pastor Tim Ewell of St. Michael Lutheran Church of Canton officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church (7000 N. Sheldon, Canton MI 48187) or Angela Hospice (14100 Newburgh Rd, Livonia MI 48154).
