Lawrence Fredrick "Silver" Harrison

December 8, 1938 — March 23, 2021

LAWRENCE FREDRICK “SILVER” HARRISON,
82, of Cass City, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Sanilac County Medical Care Facility, Sandusky after battling health issues. He was born December 8, 1938 in Royal Oak, the only child born to Nelson and Mildred (Warner) Harrison. He married Wendy Lee Gerstenberger August 1, 1998 at home in Cass City.

Larry attended Lincoln High School in Warren. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal before being honorably discharged. Larry served as a police officer for the City of Detroit and later as a Sanilac County Sheriff Deputy. Most recently, he was a self-employed building contractor until health slowed him down. Silver enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with a gun and a bow. Even as his health declined, his grandsons would take him to his deer blind so he could enjoy the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt. Silver was fond of hanging out with the boys down at camp. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Wendy; three children: Lori Harrison; Larry Harrison Jr.; Bill (Pam) Harrison; two step-children: Laura (Jamie) Pobanz; Daniel (Penny) McIntire; seven grandchildren: Veronica (Andrew), Meghan (Taylor), Brandon, Austin, Miranda (Morgan), Kristen (Chaz), Caleb (Annie); ten great- grandchildren; Janet Harrison, the mother of his children; mother-in-law, Shirley Gerstenberger; brothers-in-law: Gary (Caren) Gerstenberger, Carl Gerstenberger, John Gerstenberger; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter, Lilian.
