Harriet M. Hartwick, 87, of Deford, passed away Sunday March 26, 2017 in Autumnwood of Deckerville. She was born November 28, 1929 in Grant Township, Huron County to Fred and Sarah (Gemmill) Milligan. She married Harry T Hartwick on September 9, 1950 at her family home in Grant Township. He passed away March 19, 2017.
Harriet graduated from Cass City High School in 1948. She worked for Walbro Manufacturing for six years. Harriet was a representative of Stanley Home Products for 12 years. She loved working in her flower gardens and watching the birds who visited there. Harriet enjoyed craft painting, reading and traveling. She was fond of walking in her yard with her beagle Mandy.
Harriet is survived by her daughters: Dawn (Mike) Bills of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Anita (Jeff) Rich of Deckerville; close family friend, Kim Dorland of Coleman; grandchildren: Taylor (Jade) Bills, Ashley Bills, Nicole Bills; great grandchildren: London Bills and River Bills who is expected in May; sister-in-law, Margaret Sefton; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sisters: Gloria (Lawrence) Hartwick, Mary (Henry) Doerr; brothers: Fred Milligan, Jr., Jack Milligan; nephew, Henry Doerr.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home with Sheila Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hartwick: Cody Dorland, Mike Bills, Josh Cox, Jeff Rich, Dave Robinson, Jessie Robinson. Memorials may be made to Autumnwood of Deckerville or Cass City VFW Post #3644.
