ROBERT ROLAND HAWES,
80, of Kingston died Sunday, May 9, 2021 in McLaren Bay Region. He was born September 6, 1940 in Highland Park to Francis and Ruth (Schook) Hawes. He married Judith Ann Penfold on May 21, 1999 in Farmington.
Bob attended Ann Arbor area schools. A patriotic man, he proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his time spent in the military, Bob worked in the Troy Post Office’s processing center until retiring. He enjoyed fishing, especially in Lake Leelanau while visiting the Traverse City area, and working with wood. Bob was a kind and generous man, always helping others in many ways. He was a perfectionist and made certain that things were always neat and well maintained.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy; her daughter, Carrie (Raymond) Crispin of Ft. Myers, FL; grandson, James (Leigh) Walsh of Los Angeles, CA; his beloved sister, Shirley Zahn of Ann Arbor. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Allen Hawes; sister, Marjorie Williams; his cocker spaniel, Waffles .
Graveside service held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Kingston Cemetery with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to Cass River Pet Friendz. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
