Henry Jay Polhamus

HENRY JAY POLHAMUS  

            Jay Polhamus, 60, of Caro, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Hills and Dales Hospital, Cass City.  Jay was born November 1, 1962 to Regal and Elizabeth (Horvath) Polhamus.  He married Sally Seid on July 24, 2004 in Renovo, Pennsylvania.         

            Jay joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Morrice High School 1980.  He actively served for four years as a field artillery fire control man.  Jay was honorably discharged having achieved the rank of Corporal and was twice awarded with Meritorious Mast.  Jay worked as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic for Michigan Cat, PK Contracting, and WW Engine.  He enjoyed collecting trains and diecast cars.  Jay was known as a jack of all trades. If you needed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or help with basically anything, you called Jay. He was always willing to help everyone. Jay was a proud provider to his family.  He will always be remembered as a loving, dedicated, and devoted husband and father.

            Jay is survived by his wife, Sally of Caro; children:  Timothy (Sabrina) Seid of Reese; Chris (Lizz) Seid of Caro; Jonathan (Anna) Polhamus of Caro; Kristina (Scott) Wildman of Millbury, OH; siblings:  Tammy Polhamus, Michael Butler, Elaine Riker, of Lansing, Rae (Don) Foerster, Bobbi (Terry) Ballinger, Fran (Pat) Heffron, Kevin (Cindy) Alleman, Cedric (Sue) Alleman, Robin (Sue) Alleman, Brian (Jennifer) Alleman; grandchildren:  Skyliar Seid, Jay Seid, James Seid, Chase Seid, Susan Dale, Heaven Dale, Lucas Valdez, Ethan Anger, Isabella Wildman; special nephew, Michael (Jenna) Butler Jr.; Aunt Kay and Uncle Cliff Cook, many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and niece Katrina Riker. 

            A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
