LORI RENEE HERNANDEZ,
42, of Bay City, died Saturday, February 5, 2022 following a lengthy illness in Beaumont Hospital of Royal Oak. She was born October 25, 1979 in Bad Axe to Leslie Stuart Merchant and Connie Sue (Patch) Wozniak. She married Ruben R. Hernandez on July 14, 2012 in Bay City.
Lori graduated from Carson City-Crystal High School in 1998. Over the years she worked for various businesses, including Subway of Cass City. Lori had an affection for cats, but her friendly disposition made her a people person. She loved dining out with Ruben, shopping, and buying treasures at yard sales, many of which she gave to those in need. Lori made her own everyday makeup using essential oils which she proudly gave away. She had a terrific memory for numbers, especially phone numbers, and was an amazing conversationalist on the phone. Lori was a faithful Christian and attended a women’s Bible study group. She was a member of In His Presence Ministries of Bay City.
Lori is survived by her husband, Ruben; her son, Chris Cook; parents, Les (Marcia) Merchant of Cass City and Connie (Lornce) Wozniak of Pass Christian, MS; sister, Kristy (Scott) Merchant Hale of Kawkawlin; many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her infant brother, Stephen and her grandparents.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at In His Presence Ministries, 4521 Monitor Road, Bay City. Memorials may be made to Ruben Hernandez for the family discretionary fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and stories at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
Graveside service held 1:00 p.m, Saturday July 9, 2022 in Elkland Township Cemetery.
