Linda L. Hitsman (Woodruff)

June 23, 1947 — January 29, 2022

LINDA LUCILLE HITSMAN,
74, of Kingston, peacefully entered her heavenly celebration with her Lord and Savior, with her daughters by her side, on Saturday January 29, 2022 in Ascension Genesys Hospital of Grand Blanc. Linda was born June 23, 1947 in Flint, one of eight children born to Jasper and Mary (Murphy) Woodruff.

Linda dedicated her life to raising her two daughters, which she loved beyond measure. Linda cared for many other children during her 30 years as a foster parent. Being a foster parent gave her the opportunity to love and nurture approximately eighty children. Linda taught each child about Jesus and took them to church as often as she could. She was a member of Mizpah Missionary Church of Cass City, where she dedicated her time to do whatever was needed for her church family. Linda loved to play cards and never missed an opportunity to play with family and friends. Linda also loved to dance and was often the last to leave the dance floor. Linda’s passion was her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her daughters: Tena (Scott) LaPratt of Cass City, Melissa (Dennis) DeLong of Kingston; seven grandchildren: Nicole LaPratt, Mitchel (Monica) LaPratt, Crystal (Brandon) Myers, Samantha (Tony) Wilson, Allison DeLong, Kendra DeLong, Daniel DeLong; eight great-grand babies: Kylie, Scarlett, Jackson, Maci, Braelyn, Chase, Luke, Luci; sister, Delphenia (Doug) Bean of Cass City; many beloved nieces and nephews that were very special to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, two infant siblings: Carl Faye, Bulah Marie; sister, Rachel Hascall; brothers: Henry Woodruff, Charles Woodruff, Delbert Woodruff, sisters in laws: Nevah (Nash) Woodruff, Diana (Nash) Woodruff.
