HARRIET JANE HOOL,
80, of Cass City, died following a lengthy illness Thursday, January 5, 2017 with her family at her side in MediLodge Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born January 22, 1936 in Cass City the first of three children born to Curtis Raymond and Dorothy Clark (Tindale) Hunt. She married John "Jack" Francis Hool June 13, 1958 in Assumption Chapel, Windsor, Ontario. He died November 15, 2013.

Jane lived a charmed childhood growing up in Cass City, filled with precocious adventures. She graduated from Alma College in 1957 with a degree in Education, followed by a year at the prestigious Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. Jane enjoyed going to auctions and having the opportunity to acquire antiques. She was one of the first volunteers at the Thumb Octagon Barn Agricultural Museum. Jane was a member of Our Lady Consolata Parish St. Pancratius Catholic Church. She enjoyed line dancing and clogging. Jane was the best Mom her kids could ask for. She was always supportive and encouraging. All the neighborhood kids knew the Hool house and Jane would be the neighborhood driver to sports and scouting activities. Jane was the strong woman behind the successful man and she was the heart of her family.

Jane is survived by her children: Sara Jane Ebare of Chatham, Ontario, Kimberly (Joseph Goniwiecha) Hool of New Baltimore, John Hunt (Dawn) Hool of Windsor, Ontario; grandsons: Justin (Lee-Ann) and Zach; sister, Sarah 'Sally' (Jerry) Forthun of Waleska, GA; brother, Richard Hunt of Cass City; nieces and nephews: Brian (Erica) Hunt, Cari (Kurt) Russell, Michael (Allison) Forthun, Elizabeth (Matt) Graft. She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Janice Hunt; son-in-law, Sid Ebare.

Prayer service held 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Thomas Held of Our Lady Consolata Parish St. Pancratius Catholic Church officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Thumb Octagon Barn Agricultural Museum. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com. Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. An additional prayer service will be held at Families First Funeral Home and Tribute Centre, 3260 Dougall Ave., Windsor, Ontario N9E 1S6 at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m.
