JACQUELINE MARIE HUNT
Jacqueline “Jackie” Hunt, 90, of Ubly, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 9, 1935, to Louis and Irene (Konkel) Smielewski. On December 29, 1951, Jackie married Robert “Bob” Hunt. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of memories. He died April 29, 1997.
A true hard worker, Jackie held many roles throughout her life. She worked for Cass City Manufacturing, Snover Stamping, and Dotts Manufacturing. Jackie proudly owned and operated the Cumber Bar for eleven years, served as a bus driver for Ubly Community Schools for twenty-six years, helped on the family farm, and was a seamstress for Lucky’s Tents for thirty years. No matter the job, Jackie brought her strong work ethic, warm heart, and sense of humor to everything she did. Her zest for life was evident to everyone who knew her. She loved polka music and dancing, BINGO, and trips to the casino. Always up for an adventure, Jackie enjoyed “running the roads” with her friends, sharing laughter and stories along the way. In her down time, she was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Jackie’s spirit, energy, and kindness will forever be cherished by those who were blessed to know her. She lived a life marked by dedication, laughter, and love.
Jackie is survived by her children: Marlene Bukoski, Tammera Greyerbiehl, Dennis Hunt, Jean (Dan) Allison, Daniel (Denise) Hunt, Colleen (Ken) Mandell, Debra (John) Dillon; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; her siblings: Doreen Osentoski, James “Jim” Smielewski; dear friends whose lives she touched. She is predeceased by her children: Elaine Hunt, Norman Hunt; siblings: Cynthia Flannery, Alvin Smielewski, Terry Smielewski, Gerald Smielewski.
Per Jackie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025 in Freiburg Cemetery, Ubly with a celebration of life luncheon immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, Argyle.
