JANICE LYNN TUCKEY   

Janice Tuckey, 65, of Cass City, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 in her home after a brief illness.  She was born November 30, 1957 in Cass City to Paul and Donna (Webb) Heckroth.  Jan married Jeff Tuckey on August 23, 1980 in the Cass City Missionary Church. 

Jan held a special place in her heart for her loved ones.  She cherished moments spent visiting her children and grandchildren, which were some of her fondest memories.  Affectionately known as “Ma,” she lovingly held her position as the family matriarch.  She was a pillar of unwavering support for her family, offering her presence and strength in both joyous and challenging times.

Jan studied Computer Science at SVSU.  She then worked at Walbro, where she met Jeff, and later she worked for Tower Industries.  After retiring, Jan found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life.  Her green thumb flourished as she tended her garden and plants, cultivating beauty from the earth.  Among her favorite pastimes were visits with family, which she treasured deeply.  A daily ritual she held close to her heart was enjoying a quiet morning coffee on the porch with her beloved Jeff. 

Jan is survived by her loving husband of forty-three years, Jeff of Cass City; children:  Greg (Megan) Tuckey of Sewell, NJ; Claire (Evan) Kostishak of Midland, MI; Jeff Tuckey of Ft. Washington, MD; Jessie (Dustin) Mallory of North Wales, PA; grandchildren:  Meddie, Gregory Joseph, Maisy, Iona, Calvin, Violet, Emmett, Amina; siblings:  Tim Heckroth, Randal (Shelly) Heckroth, Karen (Matt) Cooper, Dan Heckroth, Ron Heckroth, Paula (John) Walker.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Donna Heckroth; sister, Nancy Stokes; father-in-law and mother- in-law; Jim and Wanda Tuckey.         

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 in the Cass City Missionary Church with Pastor Phil Burkett officiating.  Interment in Elkland Township Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.    

Visitation:  3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
