JANIS FAY SEELEY

Janis Fay Seeley, 83, of Cass City, died Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was born on November 22, 1942 in Hazel Park to Hollis Charles and Hazel Janice (Hower) Seeley.

Janis graduated from Cass City High School, passed the state exam for cosmetology and worked as a hairdresser for a short time. She also worked in the kitchen at Tendercare Nursing Facility. Janis also served on the Hills and Dales General Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the former Salem United Methodist Church and later the Cass City United Methodist Church. Janis always enjoyed a good card game, especially Canasta. She was fond of knitting, crocheting, and solving word search puzzles. Janis liked cooking, but she loved to go shopping.

Janis is survived by her nieces and nephews: Christopher (Carrie) Seeley of Hudsonville, Jeffrey (Nikki) Seeley of North Branch, Kimberly (John) Thompson of North Branch, Brian (Leslie) Seeley of Cass City; special cousin, Carol Ann Ehrlich of Gagetown. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Kathleen Kay Seeley, Sherryl May Seeley; brother, Charles Hollis (Buzz) Seeley. Janis’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Marlette Extended Care for taking such good care of Janis during her time with them.

Graveside service will be held in the spring in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sherryl Seeley Scholarship Fund.
