JOANN MARIE STEELY

Joann M. Steely, 57, of Decker died unexpectedly Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Marlette Hospital. She was born January 31, 1968 in Royal Oak to Joe Calvin and Mary Lorraine (LaChapelle) Steely.

Joann graduated from Cass City High School in 1986. She attended Ferris State University and received her bachelor’s degree as a radiological technician. Joann continued her education and was certified to administer mammograms, CT scans, and MRI’s. She worked for various hospitals in the Thumb area including Cass City, Bad Axe, Caro, Deckerville, and currently in Marlette Hospital. Joann was a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. She loved raising and riding horses, bicycling, and walking. Joann enjoyed rooting for the Detroit Tigers. Nothing was more important to her than her family.

Joann is survived by her brothers: Steve (Stacey) Steely, Ken Steely, Dave Steely, Dennis (Marla) Steely; nieces and nephews: Steven (Jenny), Stephanie (Aaron), Bobby, Billy, Kristin (Kyle), Jessica (Aaron), Sarah (Jack), Aaron (Danielle), Emilee (Travis), Josh, Samantha, David, Matthew; great nieces and nephews: Lilli, Paul, Jake, Blake, Wade, Gracey, Kora, Kali, Olivia, Silas, Luke, Conor, and two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Steely; great nephew, Arnie Morden.

Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Shabbona Riverside Church with Sam Leppert, funeral celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass River Pet Friendz or United Hospice Service of Marlette.
