JOHN MASON JAMESON
John M. Jameson, 77, of Cass City, died Friday, May 15, 2026 in his home with family by his side. He was born June 16, 1948 in Detroit to Paul and Dorothy (Davies) DuJardin. John was adopted by Kenneth Jameson in 1953. He married Evelyn Margaret Szabo on September 28, 1979 in Christ Lutheran Church, Warren.
John was baptized on July 25, 1948 in St. Luke Lutheran Church, Detroit. His godparents were Tim Garrison and Beth Jaranoski. John attended Fitzgerald High School in Warren and graduated in 1966. He served in the United States Navy from July 27, 1967 thru December 15, 1971. John enjoyed various activities many of which involved time spent outdoors. He loved being in the company of his children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Evelyn; sons: Andrew Jameson, Gary Jameson, Kevin (Courtney) Jameson. grandchildren: Eren, Riley, Rowan, Emily, Ella; many nieces and nephews. sisters: Patricia Reese, Jane Jameson, Mary Beth Jameson, Rosemary Barravecchia, Darlene Drummond, Pauline Nelson, Henrietta Carpenter. He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty McCracken.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City with Rev. Steve Bagnall officiating. Military honors conducted by Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644 and the United States Navy Honor Guard. Interment will be in Elmwood Township Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. To honor John’s wishes, visitors are encouraged to wear Detroit Lions attire to the visitation.
