JOYCE ANN LAROCHE
Joyce Ann LaRoche, 81, of Cass City, died Saturday, April 11, 2026 in MyMichigan Medical Center, Saginaw. She was born May 27, 1944 in Cass City, the youngest of three children born to Leland Dean “Bill” and Lorinda Marion (Rocheleau) DeLong. She married James LaRoche on March 30, 1962 in Caro. He died May 7, 1995.
Joyce graduated from Cass City High School where she had been a cheerleader and a Girl Scout. She worked as clerk-treasurer in the Cass City Municipal Building, for twenty-five years, until her retirement. Joyce was a member of the Michigan Clerk Association. For many years Joyce spent a lot of time down at the ball fields with Jim loving the softball world that became family. She truly enjoyed taking stats and being the bookkeeper. Joyce bowled on several leagues and enjoyed golfing and deer hunting. She took joy in watching and observing deer and other wildlife. Joyce also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their extracurricular activities.
Joyce is survived by her children: Tena (Dean) Rabideau of Cass City, Theresa Vatter of Shabbona, Jamie (Joe) Krol of Cass City, Leann Philo (Ron Austin) of Vassar, Jodi (John) Dean of Millington; sisters: Linda (Thomas) Herron of Cass City, Bonnie Miller of Summerfield, FL; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Kelly LaRoche; son-in-law, Scott Vatter; brother-in-law, Frank Miller.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 in Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City with Brad Speirs officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made Jodi Dean to be use at the family discretion.
Visitation: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
