WAYNE EDWARD KARAVAS,
59, of Cass city died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 9, 2015 in his home. He was born June 17, 1956 in Dearborn the fourth of six children born to John and Wanda (Zebrowski) Karavas.
Wayne apprenticed at Greenfield Village as a painter after high school. He later began his own business, WK Paint Service and then WK Home Restoration. Wayne enjoyed working on cars, deer hunting and playing ping pong. He was a WNEM TV5 weather spotter and storm chaser. Most recently Wayne was excited about being a Grandpa for the first time.
Wayne is survived by his children: Erika Karavas of Ferndale, Brittany (Doug) Austin of Grand Rapids, Nicholas Karavas of Caro; grandson, Everett; brothers: John (Phyllis) Karavas of New Haven, CN, Ron (Nan) Karavas of Ellsworth; Craig (Angie) Karavas of Trenton; sisters: Michelle Karavas Babinski of York, SC, Carole Karvis of Williams, OR; many nieces and nephews. Wayne will also be missed by his best friend, Kent Ehrle of Allen Park.
A memorial service was held 12 noon Saturday, September 10, 2015 at Ford Field park in Dearborn. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
