SHIRLEY JEAN (KARR) WISENBACH,
86, of Cass City died Monday, December 19, 2022 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born August 17, 1936 in Cass City in an apartment in the back of the Eat Shop where her father was a cook. Her parents were Carl and Irene (Robinson) Wright. She married Ervin James “Jim” Karr on February 12, 1955 in Trinity Methodist Church. He died November 12, 1985. She married Jay Donald Wisenbach on November 30, 1996 in Salem United Methodist Church. He died April 17, 2015.

Shirley graduated in 1955 from Cass City High School and, in her younger years, was fond of roller skating. She enjoyed spending her summers on the Robinson family farm and later worked for Sommers Bakery. Shirley was employed by Walbro for a short time, then by the Yale Rubber Plant of Sandusky and retired after thirty years. She once served as president of the Cass City V.F.W Post # 3644 Ladies Auxiliary and was involved with the Order of the Eastern Star of Cass City and Caro. Shirley was an active member of Cass City United Methodist Church, where she made many pies and assisted with the Dorcas Society meals. She enjoyed cooking and baking; especially cinnamon rolls, sewing, embroidery, and crocheting. Her other talents included making and decorating cakes.

Shirley is survived by her children: Linda (David) Reed of Cass City, Cindy Karr of Cass City, Cheryl (Dr. Jeffrey) Chambers of Durham, NC; grandchildren: Sandra (Ian) Marovich, Dawn Karr, Jeremy Reed, Timothy Karr, Carissa (Chris) Chirdon, Jeffrey "JJ" Chambers, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn (Mason) Steinmann, Nathaniel, Trinity, Tristan, Alexandro, Eve, Jade, Alan, Julisa; siblings: Glenn Wright of Imlay City, Irl Wright of Texas; brothers-in-law: Howard Kelley, Clayton Karr; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Donald James Karr; great-grandson, Bradley Shrontz; brother, Bud (May) White; sister, Vera (Robert) Balwinski; sisters-in-law: Janice Wright, Helen Karr, Geraldine Kelley, Marlene (Robert) Karr.

Funeral service will be held at a later date in the spring of 2023. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church or Cass City V.F.W Post # 3644 Ladies Auxiliary.
