RUTH KING
Ruth King, 92, of Kingston, died Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Mary Free Bed, Covenant Rehabilitation Center, Saginaw. She was born August 5, 1925 in Isabelle, KS the first of two children born to John Lyle and Martha Frances (Webb) Nipple. She married Robert Leveer King May 8, 1943 in the judge’s office, the same judge who married her parents. Robert died April 14, 1993.
Ruth graduated from Great Lakes Business College in Hutchinson, KS. She was a wife, homemaker and very active Mom raising six children. She was a devoted member of Kingston Wesleyan Church for over 50 years. She was a member and treasurer for over 32 years of Wesleyan Women International. She taught Sunday School classes from the young to the elder. Ruth served on the woman’s prayer cell and made many visits to shut-ins when she was able. Ruth was known for crocheting baby sweater sets and afghans, and also made yarn covered hangers everyone loved. She loved to read, work word search puzzles, and truly loved the Lord.
Ruth is survived by her children: Ruth Ann (Albert) Brown of Kingston, Doris (Doug) Green of Jacksonville, FL, Paul (Milly) King of Kingston, Robin (Lori) King of Kingston, Martha (Francis) Rayl of Cass City; daughter-in-law, Dianne King of Bay City; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by sons: Bobbie Lyle King, Roger Lee king, Carl David King; son-in-law, J.D. Alexander; granddaughter, Rhonda Lou King; great grandson, Adam Lyle King; brother, Billy Nipple.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Pastor Len Wyatt officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Pallbearers for Ruth will be her grandsons: Randy King, Lyle King, Mark King, Jeff King, Jeremy King, Corey Brown, Ryan Brown, Stacey Brown. Memorials may be made to Kingston Wesleyan Church.
Visitation: 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018
