Larry Kidney

LARRY KIDNEY 

            Larry Kidney, 70, of Cass City, died peacefully Sunday, April 28, 2024 in his home.  He was born August 7, 1953 in Battle Creek to Reverend James E. and Merla Jean (Hughes) Kidney.  He was married to Suzanne Marie Zawilinski on September 25, 1971 by his father in Cass City Missionary Church.    

            Larry graduated from Cass City High School in 1971.  He worked for a brief time for the Cass City Fertilizer Plant.  In 1972, Larry began his career in the Caro Center and retired thirty-two years later.  Following his retirement, he performed lawn maintenance duties for Elkland Township Cemetery.  Larry enjoyed trips to Lewiston to go deer hunting and spending time in the cabin with his brother-in-law, Ron, nephews, and friends.  A favorite past time of his was driving ten miles an hour down the road, sightseeing.  Larry was great with jokes and storytelling.  His stories always took the long way around which made them even better.  Larry liked watching Westerns on television, completing crossword puzzles, and cheating at word searches.  He was also fond of the slap-stick humor of the Three Stooges.               Larry is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Suzanne of Cass City; daughters:  Ginnifer Kidney of Cass City, Karla (Jeff) Krol of Cass City; granddaughter, Chloe; sisters:  Lorna (Don) Arndt of Saginaw, Joy (Kim) Herrick of Portage; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.  Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James and Merla Kidney; his father-in-law and mother in-law, Martin and Virginia Zawilinski.        

            Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating.  Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Suzanne Kidney to be used at the family’s discretion.
