PAULA MARIE LeVALLEY
55, of Cass City, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, in Covenant HealthCare, Harrison Campus, Saginaw, surrounded by family. She was born August 5, 1966, in Cass City, the fourth child in a family of six children to Thomas and Linda (DeLong) Herron. She married the love of her life, Richard Glenn LeValley on July 14, 1990, in Cass City and together they have two children, Thomas and Maegan.
Paula was raised in a loving and lively home, where family was very important. From a young age, Paula knew that she wanted to become a teacher. After graduating from Cass City High School in 1984, Paula pursued her lifetime dream and obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Saginaw Valley State University. Paula’s passion for reading and teaching children led her to have an amazing thirty-four-year teaching career as an elementary teacher at Cass City Public Schools. She touched the lives of so many children while also being a wonderful wife and mother. Paula loved her family unconditionally. Her love for her family, students, and everyone around her is one of the many things that made Paula an exceptional person. She was everyone’s favorite aunt, or favorite teacher, or favorite sister-in-law. Paula was loved immensely by so many people for so many reasons. She was so giving and compassionate that everyone always knew they could count on her. Whether it was cooking for someone in need, or buying a student snow boots, or simply just listening and being a good friend, her kindness knew no bounds.
Paula enjoyed many things in life. Her love for community service led her to accomplish great things. Paula was an advocate for reading literacy and she organized and was co-chairman for the construction of the playscape in Cass City. She loved her children and enjoyed watching them play sports as they grew up and she supported all of their endeavors in life. Paula loved her husband and riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle together. They enjoyed many wonderful vacations and made many memories together in their thirty-two years of marriage. Paula was very close with her sisters and they enjoyed many “sister trips” over the years. She was a wonderful aunt to all of her many nieces and nephews. Paula will be missed tremendously by so many.
Paula is survived by her husband, Richard; children: Thomas LeValley (Shelby McLachlan) of Cass City; Maegan LeValley of Caseville; parents, Thomas and Linda Herron of Cass City; sisters, Brenda (Tim) Brinkman of Sugar Hill, GA; Barbara (Bill) Harris of Cass City; Dawn (Michael) Karr of Cass City; Angela Jordan of Tampa, FL; brother, Donald (Kristina) Herron of Jackson; brothers-in-law: Paul (Sandy) LeValley of Petoskey, Bruce LeValley of Cass City; Marty (Doris) LeValley of Cass City, Alan (Tammy) LeValley of Pigeon, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard’s parents; and sisters-in-law: Yvonne LeValley and Debbie LeValley.
Funeral service held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City with Brad Speirs officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richard LeValley for a future Cass City Elementary School fund in memory of Paula.
