Keith Turner Little

May 11, 1930 — August 24, 2021

KEITH TURNER LITTLE,
91, of Cass City, was taken into glory by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was born May 11, 1930 to Mack and Helen (Turner) Little in the same house in which he died. He married Wanetta Woodard on June 24, 1950 at Novesta Church of Christ. She died March 30, 1996.

Keith was a lifelong resident of Cass City. He graduated valedictorian of the Class of 1947 of Cass City High School. Keith farmed Littleson Farms, first with his father and brother Harold, then later with his eldest son David and grandchildren Matthew and Micah. Littleson Farms became a certified Michigan Centennial Farm in 1996, having been owned and operated by the Little family since 1893 continuously to this day.

Keith was a friend and contemporary of many Cass City community leaders over the better part of the last century. Keith loved God, family, and farming in the Cass City area and he would do anything for all three. He served as an elder at Novesta Church of Christ for more than 40 years, seeing the church through much growth and shepherding the people. Keith was the model of the sacrificial shepherd and giver. Whenever a neighbor was in need, he was always ready to help.

Keith worked the land until he was 86 years old and didn’t consider a 16-hour day a burden, as only those who love farming can understand. In his later years, he would sit in his front room watching over the activities of the farm, and nothing missed his attention. If you asked him if he wanted a ride to go check on the fields, the answer was always YES, and you were never quite sure what he was looking for, but the time spent was precious. As the wise patriarch of a large family, he was a role model, teacher, provider, advice-giver, and the steadfast rock upon which we could depend. Keith’s legacy is the love he created through his actions and the wisdom he imparted to everyone that loved and knew him.

Keith is survived by his three sons and two daughters: David (Donna) Little of Cass City, Dennis Little of Bay CIty, Dean (Patricia) Little of Cass City, Brenda (Stu) Venema of Cass City, Karen (Scott) McDaniel of Ave Maria, FL; thirteen grandchildren: Bill, Cory, Matthew, Micah, Joshua, Ashley, Alecia, Amanda, Tyler, Amy, Erin, Thomas, Stephen; twenty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Lota Hartel, Joyce Young, Hazel Caister; sisters-in-law: Wanda Lonsberry, Florence McVety, Mary Helen Pratt. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of forty-five years, Wanetta; brother, Harold Little. Keith’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Lori McMillan for her care and compassion.
