DR. ELDEN PAUL LOCKWOOD
86, of Cass City died peacefully, Saturday morning, January 23, 2021 in Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. He was born August 22, 1934 in Cass City to Wesley Alvero and Lotela May (Hudson) Lockwood. He married Ellen Irene Decker in Cass City; they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on January 24, 2021. She died December 13, 2020.
Paul graduated from Caro High School. He attended the National School of Chiropractic Medicine in Chicago and became a chiropractor. Paul owned the Cass City Chiropractic Center from 1959 until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed attending seminars. His love of learning and knowledge never faded; he was passionate about reading and absorbed everything he read like a sponge. Paul’s favorite pastimes were fishing, autumn color tours up north, car rides around the lake, and going for ice cream with Ellen.
Paul is survived by his children: David Lockwood of Orlando, FL; Tim (Cathie) Lockwood of Rescue, CA; James Lockwood of Seneca, SC; Mary Jo (Brent) Vander Schaaf of Three Rivers, MI; Deborah (Mark) Pridgeon of Osceola, IN; brother, Alvin Lockwood of Caro; sister-in-law, Grace Ann Lockwood of Huntington, IN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; Ellen’s daughters: Connie Dempsey of Deckerville; Marilyn (Robert) Bulgrien of Snover; Jane Lewis of Pigeon; Marjorie (Jim) Russel of Fairgrove. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; brother, John Lockwood; sister-in-law, Betty Lockwood.
Private family funeral service held Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Phil Burkett of Cass City Missionary Church officiating. Interment in Almer Township Cemetery, Caro. Memorials may be made to Huron County Medical Care Facility. Friends may share memories, prayers, and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
