JEAN ADA (KING) LUANA KLINKMAN
94, of Deford died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born July 23, 1928 in Marlette to George and Elsie (Kennedy) King. She married James Peter Luana on March 1, 1947. He died May 14, 1969. She married Kenneth Arthur Klinkman on August 1, 1970. He died December 16, 2021.
Jean graduated from Marlette High School in 1946. Throughout the years, she worked numerous jobs including bus driver for Cass City School, in the Deford school office, for Moone’s Dairy Barn, Huffman’s Dimestore, the Marlette Theater, and as a machine operator for Walbro. Jean also volunteered for Northwood Meadows Assisted Living Facility and was a Cub Scouts leader. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and canning. Together, she and Ken loved riding and taking trips on their Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Jean is survived by her children: James Luana of Reese, John (Jane) Luana of Deford, David (Penny) Luana of North Port, FL; Judy Martin (Dale Mills) of Cass City; son-in-law, Michael Sagash of Deford grandchildren: Lance Asher of CA, RJ Wentworth (Mary Crosby) of FL, Suzette (Gordon) Wright of Deford, Tara (Jeff) Mallory of Kingston, Joe (Carrie) Luana of Cass City, Jamie (Garold) Peasley of Cass City, James Luana of OH, Amy (Christian) Marsh of VA, Sherry Luana of Cass City, Melissa Martin of WV, Kevin (Ashley) Martin of Caro; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands, daughter, Susan Sagash; siblings: Annabelle Chamber, Ivan King, Willard King, Walter King. son-in-law, Scott Martin; great-great granddaughter, Braelynn.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2023 in Deford Community Church with Pastor David Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to Deford Community Church.
