MARYLN ANN REEHL
Marlyn A. Reehl, 87, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, at United Hospice Residence of Aspire in Marlette. She was born September 26, 1938, in Caro to Leo and Maryellen (Harp) Reitz. On June 18, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Edwin Reehl, at Dayton Center Church in Silverwood. They shared many devoted years together until his passing on September 19, 2021.
Marlyn graduated from Kingston High School in 1956 and went on to spend forty-one years at Kingston State Bank, where she was known for her friendly smile, dedication, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met. She truly enjoyed connecting with people and built lasting friendships throughout her years there. A faithful and active member of Dayton Center Church of Silverwood, Marlyn poured her heart into her church family. She lovingly served as a Vacation Bible School leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and organizer of children’s Christmas programs and countless church activities. Her faith guided her life, and she shared it generously with others.
Together, Marlyn and Jim were deeply committed to their community. They were familiar faces at Kingston Community Schools events, cheering on students at games and concerts, organizing spaghetti dinner fundraisers, and later helping plan high school reunions. Their support and presence meant so much to so many. Above all, Marlyn treasured her family. Her grandchildren brought her endless pride and happiness, and she created countless special memories with them that will be cherished forever. Her love, warmth, and gentle spirit will live on in each of them.
Marlyn is survived by her children: Dawn (Andrew) Fraser of Lynchburg, VA; Jill (Robert Ashton) Reehl of Los Angeles, CA; and Mark (Suzanne) Reehl of Decker. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Jenna (Aaron) Casey of Norton, England; Ellie (Jackson) Richardson and Blake (Dana) Fraser, both of Lynchburg, VA; Luke (RaeAnn) Reehl of Decatur, AL; Nathan Reehl of Decker; two great-grandchildren, Beckham and Emelia. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jim; siblings: Gretchen McBride, Bernard Reitz, Bernice Dersnah, Max Reitz, Maxine Webb.
