MARTIN LEWIS McSKULIN SR.
Martin L. McSkulin Sr, 64, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 in United Hospice Residence of Aspire Marlette, surrounded by his loved ones, following a brief but brave battle with cancer. He was born October 11, 1961 to Martin G. and Delta D. (Harley) McSkulin. On July 31, 1982 Marty married the love of his life, Jamie VanParis. They were blessed with two beautiful children.
Marty graduated from Mayville High School in 1981. He enjoyed deer hunting. Marty also loved watching University of Michigan and Detroit Lions football games, along with Detroit Tigers baseball games on television.
Marty is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Jamie of Kingston; daughter, Jessica (Robert) Jurvelin-Zyrowski of Montrose; brother, Joseph (Kris) McSkulin of Clifford; sister, Debra (Don) Kipper of Lansing; in-laws: June Burge, Natalie (Randy) Heck, Pat (Allison) VanParis, Brenda Heidger, Nancy (Bryon Shipman) Czelusniak; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Marty McSkulin II; his parents; brother, Robert McSkulin; brother-in-law, Ed Czelusniak; in-laws: Jim and Judy VanParis.
The family would like to thank United Hospice Residence of Aspire Marlette, Dr. Benjamin Huber, Dr. David Forner, and First State Home Healthcare for all of their support during Marty’s brave battle.
Funeral service held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Len Wyatt of Kingston Wesleyan Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Jamie McSkulin to be used at the family’s discretion. Marty's family request that anyone attending the visitation and funeral to please feel free to wear your U of M or Detroit Lions gear.
