Roger Len Maynard

ROGER LEN MAYNARD,
71, of Kingston died unexpectedly Saturday, February 15, 2020 in his home. He was born January 20, 1949 in Cove Gap, WV to Charles and Kathleen (Elliott) Maynard. He married Nancy Jean Hanzinger. She died in 2008.

Roger graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne WV with the Class of 1966. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Roger worked as truck driver for Detroit Diesel and later, as a forklift operator, with Tower Automotive of Elkton for twenty years. He was proud to have been a founding member of Kingston AmVets Post #1072 and a member of the American Legion Post #7 of Caro. Roger loved playing piano for many different country music bands throughout the years. He owned and enjoyed many muscle cars, his favorite being the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.

Roger is survived by his children: Charles Maynard of Vassar; Donna Broughton of Chesterfield; Keith (Charise) Tackett of Phoenix, AZ; Brian (Sumanna Sankaran) Maynard of Ann Arbor; Amanda Aldridge of Croswell; seven grandchildren: Kaden, Kaylee, Kemper, Hanna, Kendal, Zane, Logan; brother, Orville (Mary) Maynard of Merritt Island, FL; sisters: Charlene (Jim) Watros of Merritt Island, FL; Annette (Ed) Nichol of Merritt Island, FL; his mother, Kathleen (Edgar) Conrad of Merritt Island, FL; his significant and special friend of many years, Lisa Sanders and her daughter, Meghann Sanders. He is preceded in death by his father.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Len Wyatt of Kingston Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Memorials may be made to Kingston AmVets Post #1072. Military honors conducted by Kingston AmVets Post #1072 and American Legion Post #7 of Caro. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
