GRANT GENE MCKEE,
78, of Pontiac, formerly of Cass City, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in his sister's home in Otter Lake. He was born March 10, 1936 at home in Decker to Eugene and Lila Augusta (Chapman) McKee.
Grant graduated from Cass City High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. Grant worked for General Motors in the Pontiac Motors Division retiring after over 30 years. He enjoyed working in his vegetable gardens, visiting casinos, fishing and watching game shows on television. Grant also enjoyed watching sporting events, especially the nieces and nephews softball games.
Grant is survived by his brothers: Elmer McKee of Imlay City, Alvin McKee of Cass City, George (Betty) McKee of Lapeer; sister, Ruth Ann (Barry) McCafferty of Otter Lake; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Reva, Larry, and Donna Silver. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Evelyn and Lucille; brothers: Herbert McKee, Frank McKee and John McKee.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Dr. Phil Burkett of Cass City Missionary Church officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to McLaren Hospice, 1515 Cal Drive, Davison, MI 48423.
