KATHERINE ANN MCPHAIL
73, of Cass City died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City. She was born June 3, 1948 in Sanilac County to Charles and Elizabeth (Aune) Wright. She married Robert Dean McPhail, Sr. on February 21, 1970 in Caro. He died August 2, 2018.
Kathy graduated from Cass City High School in 1967. She worked as a hairdresser and for Caro Plastic before becoming a full-time homemaker. Kathy enjoyed completing word search puzzles and watching the birds outside of the window. Kathy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite television shows include the Gaither Gospel Hour, Survivor, and Alaskan Bush People.
Kathy is survived by her children: Pam (Richard, Jr.) Brooks of Cass City, William (Debbie) McPhail of Bad Axe, Sarah (David) Lewis of Moundridge, KS; Robert D. (Laurie Howey) McPhail, Jr. of Filion; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and one expected in January; sister, Carol (William) Benjamin of TN; brother, Philip Wright of AZ; sisters-in-law: Nancy Wright of Cass City, Janet Wright of Deford, Louise Wright of FL; many nieces and nephews. Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers: James Wright, Robert Wright, Richard Wright, John Wright, Dalbert Wright, Charles (Geraldine) Wright; her parents; sisters: Laura Mannarino, Darlene Peters, Gladys Jones, Sharon Guinther; sisters-in-law: Shirley Wright, Grace Stuart.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kranz Funeral Home for the benefit of the family.
