MARGARITA A. MENZEL,
82, of Sebewaing, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020. A funeral mass was held March 13, 2020 in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, St. Clair Shores.
Margarita was born July 20, 1937 in Gagetown to Regino and Domitila Lopez. She graduated from Cass City High School in 1955. Margarita attended Central Michigan University and later earned a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. She was a teacher in Saginaw; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and retired from the Warren School District.
Margarita is survived by her siblings: Benjamin Lopez of KY, Alex (Annie) Lopez of Lapeer, Petra (Bob) Chisholm of Caro; adopted daughter, Maria; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Bill Roberts, Clarence Menzel; siblings: Regino Lopez, Pablo Lopez, Juanita Lopez.
A celebration of Margarita’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 in St. Agatha Cemetery, Gagetown with Fr. Robert Kelm officiating. In accordance with the current state mandate regarding COVID-19, attendees are also kindly reminded to wear a mask or other facial covering while at graveside.
