BETTY LOU (POWELL) MILLER
90, of Cass City, died peacefully Friday, March 18, 2022 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born May 3, 1931 in Grant Township to Earl and Lona (Davidson) Cliff. She married Frederick Powell in 1948. Later, she married James Miller on July 3, 1977. He died in 1990.
Betty graduated from Cass City High School in 1948 and worked various jobs while raising her family. Many years later, she enrolled in Howard’s Beauty Academy of Caro and became a licensed beautician in 1978. Betty eventually retired from Young at Heart Beauty Shop located in the Caro Senior Commons. After retiring, she began spending winters in Zephyr Hills, Florida. Betty stayed up to date following fashion and her favorite celebrities by reading movie magazines. She enjoyed collecting antique furniture, glassware, and quilts. Betty loved live music and dancing, but visiting with family and friends was her favorite activity. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Northwood Meadows and Compassus Hospice of Cass City for their compassion and care.
Betty is survived by her children: Brenda (Tom) Fulcher of Cass City, Mary (Don) Kerner of St. Augustine, FL; Frederick (Terrie) Powell, Jr. of Cass City; grandchildren: Mindy (Trent) LeValley, Thomas (Kim) Fulcher, Jr., Jessica Kerner, Jeremy Powell, Tara Powell, Justin Powell; seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Ardis Allen of St. Louis, Larry (Josephine) Rockefeller of Owendale, Sharon Heiden of Elkton; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Earline Powell, Jacqueline Diebel; brother, Donald Rockefeller.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Interment in Elkland Township Cemetery.
