JOAN KAY MILLER,
59, of Decker, died unexpectedly following a short illness, Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. She was born January 13, 1954 in Genesee County to William Edwin and Mildred Marie (Morse) Miller.

Joan loved animals. It was important to her to feed all the area animals including the squirrels, chipmunks and birds. She especially loved her African Grey Parrott, Corky. Relaxing and spending time with family and friends over a cup of tea were enjoyable pastimes for Joan. One of her favorite activities was taking her grandchildren to McDonalds.

Joan is survived by her son, William "Will" ( Bettina) Miller of Decker; grandchildren: Melissa, Jacob, Kamaria, Kaliondra, Tojh; brothers: William (Jeanette) Miller of Cass City, Richard (Susan) Songerath of Auburn Hills, Donald Songerath of Brooksville, FL; sisters: June Nazzario of Cass City, Lois Sholtz of Brooksville, FL, Loretta (James) Whittaker of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Allen R. Miller; sister, Nadine Miller and her parents, William and Mildred Miller.

Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Richard Songerath officiating. Interment will be in Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
