GARY WILLIAM MITCHELL,
50, of Caro, died following a short illness Thursday, November 27, 2014 in his home with his family by his side. He was born September 18, 1964 in Saginaw to Frank William and Lila Alma (Wilton) Mitchell. He married Carol Ann Giddings October 11, 1991 in Juniata Township.
Gary worked as a self employed handyman. He would do yard work, minor repairs, cut wood, any chore you asked of him. He enjoyed deer hunting, smelt dipping, salmon and catfish fishing. Gary also enjoyed playing poker, tubing and camping with his family. Most important to Gary was spending time with his family and friends. Gary was a wonderful friend to his many dogs and cats including Buff, L.B., Chase, Smokey, Midnight, Casper and Sable.
Gary is survived by his wife, Carol; children: Crystal (Michael) Mihalic of Caro, Gary E. (Melissa Borstler) Mitchell of Caro, Christina (Robert) Johnson of Caro, Allisha Giddings-Mitchell of Alger, Ryan J. Giddings-Mitchell of Caro; grandchildren: Adam, Airianna, Aaliyah, Conner, Gary II; godson, Dennis (Roxanne) Kammerer Jr. of Caro; brothers: Frank (Regina) Mitchell of Mayville, Douglas (Lynette) Mitchell of KY, Robert (Stormy) Spencer of Flint, David Spencer of Flint; sisters: Linda Cain of Flint, Patty Feldhouse of Flint; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Patty Hatfield and Lila Woodley.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Bob Bader officiating. Interment will be in Indianfield Township Cemetery, Caro. Pallbearers for Mr. Mitchell: Gary Mitchell, Ryan Giddings-Mitchell, Dennis Kammerer Jr., Cody Harper, Joe Elledge, and Robert Johnson. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
