CAROL JUNE NANNEY
Carol J. Nanney, 80, of Essexville, formerly of Cass City died Monday, October 17, 2016 in McLaren Bay Region, Bay City. She was born August 8, 1936 in Detroit to Elmer and Helen (Papp) Murry. She married Eugene Nanney June 17, 1957 in Angola, IN. He died April 3, 1996.
Carol worked for years as a housekeeper in Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City. She loved serving her Lord by being involved with many church activities especially the Dorcas Meal. Carol was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her cherry and peach cobbler deserts were family favorites. An avid book lover, she read the Bible and an occasional romance novel. She loved others and always put everyone first before herself.
Carol is survived by her children: Guy (Kathie) Nanney of Harbor Beach, Lois (Stephen) Papp of Cass City, Terry (Blaise) Posluszny of Essexville; son-in-law, Joseph Vanderhoof of Grayling; daughter-in-law, Sharon Nanney of Grayling; 21 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Vieceli of Shelby Township and Sandra Murry of Shelby Township; brothers: John (Sandra) Murry of Canton, David (Karen) Murry of Fernandino Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her sons: Gary Nanney and Ron Nanney; daughter Renie Vanderhoof; great grandsons: Jeffery Papp, Jerry Vanderhoff and baby Mangiapane; brothers: Robert Murry, Elmer Murry and Charles Murry; sister Dorothy Maxson.
Funeral service held Saturday, October 22, 20126 at 11:00 a.m. in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
