Naomi Joan Larocque

 NAOMI JOAN LAROCQUE  

Naomi J. Larocque, 90, of Cass City died Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro.  She was born September 26, 1933 in Green Bay, WI to Erwin and Bernadette (Naylor) LaRock.  She married Cecil Cross on April 1, 1949 in Genesee County.  He died April 30, 1990.         

Naomi graduated from Delta College with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing.  She worked at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw, as a cook for the Exit Restaurant in Birch Run, and was a mobile home park manager when she lived in Tucson, AZ.  Naomi was very family oriented.  She was the second of fifteen children and raised eight of her youngest siblings at the age of twenty-one when her mother died, including raising five of her own children.  Naomi loved to cook and bake.  Her hobbies included genealogy, oil painting, collecting rocks and pennies, and she was an avid reader.   

Naomi is survived by her children:  Cecil (Marj), Al, Barb (Chuck), Mary; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings:  LaVonne, Sylvia, Erwin (Kathy), Frances (Sue), Jeanette, Audrey, Bruce (Debbie); many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son, Walter; grandson, Jason; son-in-law, Rodney; siblings:  Gerald, Leland, Erwin Jr., Milton, Betty, Donna, Roger; husband, Ken. 

Funeral mass held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, Cass City with Fr. Robert Pare officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of the Library or please consider bringing shoes or new clothing to be donated to the Cass City School’s Clothing Closet.
