SUE ELLEN NELSON,
75, of Kingston, died Monday, September 26, 2022 in McLaren Regional Hospital. She was born December 2, 1946 in Pontiac to Karl and Luella (Beers) Kurtz. She married Thomas James Nelson on May 20, 1963 in Keego Harbor. He died September 13, 2009.
Sue attended Pontiac Central High School. She worked for Kmart in Pontiac for over fifteen years. After relocating to the Kingston area, Sue went on to work for Hydromat, Inc. of Caro. Later, she was employed by Walmart in the shipping and receiving department for sixteen years. Sue loved cheating at Rummy, playing BINGO, and throwing dice. She was an excellent cook and her fried chicken will be missed by family and friends alike. Sue also enjoyed day long road trips to the lakeshore, sometimes stopping to fish. She adored her nieces, nephews, and her great nieces and great nephews whole-heartedly.
Sue is survived by her children: Ronald (Shawn Smith) Nelson of Kingston; nephew “son”, Gary Watkins of Constantine; sister, Debra Kula of Kingston; special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews including: Kim Lounsberry, Derek (Sheila) Keilitz, Cheryl Watkins, Crystal (Kurt) Ewald. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; sister, Linda (Cub) Bowman.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2022 in Kingston United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Demyanovich officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery.
